I am Alex Day and I have been blessed to have grown up in a Christian household.  My parents are Christians, my grandparents were Christians, and my closest friends and family members are Christians.  I want to develop this site so that people can share their stories about why they are Christians and what God has done in their life in an unobtrusive and non-intimidating fashion. 

WHY CREATE THIS SITE?

One of my favorite paraphrased quotes is, "teach the love of Christ at all times, and when absolutely necessary, use words".  My faith forms the foundation of how I live my life.  But I am not called to be a preacher or evangelist.  My gifts and passions are in science, business and entrepreneurism.  As a business person, I have no interest in being evangelized by other faiths, and therefore will not try to evangelize in business settings.  But I also, will not try to hide my faith.  So for those people who may be interested in my faith, I have created this site so that if they want to actively come to this site to learn about my faith, they can do so without feeling uncomfortable.  I hope that this site can become a social sharing site where people can share their faith and encourage others. 

WHY I BELIEVE

The simple answer is the the simplicity of Christ's message.  In Mathew 22:37-40 it says: Jesus replied: "'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.' 38 This is the first and greatest commandment. 39 And the second is like it: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.' 40 All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments."  This message of love is simple and feels right.  

WHY ITS IMPORTANT TO ME

Hope is one of the most essential elements to life.  As someone who has studied astrophysics, I understand cosmological time frames.  I also understand that the average human life span is infinitesimally small in the scheme of things.  If there is an afterlife, then we will be spending most of our existence in that afterlife.  Having lost loved ones, the message of Christ gives me hope that I will see them again.  This hope makes life easier.  This hope is worth hanging on to.  This hope is inspiring.  

MY ADVICE TO YOU 

If my belief system is correct, then most of our existence is going to be spent in the afterlife.  I will tell you that following Christ and adhering to His principals is challenging and not easy.  Most of His early followers died horrible deaths because of their belief in Him.  But what He offers is a hope beyond this world.  A hope of love and peace.  Intellectually I find my faith to be very challenging.  But the hope, the love, and the peace of mind is well worth any challenges.  My suggestion to you is to pray.  Ask Christ for his peace and his guidance.  Pray every day.  It may feel funny at first, but just make a habit of having a conversation with Christ.  If he is who He says He is, then you could make no better investment than seeking out a relationship with Him.  And if there is no God, if there is no afterlife, you really have nothing to lose.  If there is an afterlife, then you have everything to gain.
